As a pioneering IEEE Student Branch in Sri Lanka, we are excited to introduce our newest flagship competition as an AI Prediction Challenge, Predicta 1.0. With a novel structure, this competition aims to provide a unique platform for participants to team up and apply their skills, solve real-world challenges and have an exciting experience along the way in AI, ML, and Data Analytics domains. With the main focus on the application of AI and Data Science, the new electricity, in real-world scenarios, we hope to inspire the participants to explore and experiment with the advancement of technology itself.

Structure of the Competition
The "Predicta 1.0" will consist of an awareness session, two knowledge-sharing sessions, and the competition itself. The competition will be held online and based on solving a given real-world problem using Machine Learning and Data analytic techniques. The Kaggle platform will be used for submission and evaluation purposes. The competitors will be given a real-world data set to come up with a model to predict the evolution of the data up to a given time frame. The predictions will be evaluated against the actual evolution of the real data. Competitors will have to build innovative and accurately trained models in a limited time.
Kaggle is the world's largest data science community with powerful tools and resources to help you achieve your data science goals. Kaggle allows users to find datasets they want to use in building AI models, publish datasets, work with other data scientists and machine learning engineers, and enter competitions to solve data science challenges.
Rules & Regulations
Teams or individuals interested in participating in the competition should register through our online form available on our official website.
Competitors must be undergraduate students of a University in Sri Lanka. Participants will be asked to provide proof of their student status during the registration process.
Competitors should be able to verify their studentship. This could be in the form of a valid student ID, a letter from the university, or any other document that proves their current enrollment in the university if required.
A team can contain up to 3 members. Individual participation is also accepted.
All the team members must represent the same university.
Each team should designate a team leader who will be the primary point of contact for the competition organizers.
Any changes to the team composition after registration, such as adding or removing team members, must be communicated to the competition organizers by 10th June 2024.
There are no restrictions on the number of teams that can participate from the same university.
